rincon mountain

Our family-owned winery is located on our 140-acre avocado ranch in Ventura County. It’s also where we live (and where our winemaker, Edward Darren grew up). The ranch is how we stay connected to our past while growing towards our future. The winery itself is sized to handle 3,000 cases annually, and every year we’re scaling up in anticipation of reaching this maximum production. The winery is also where we host our private pick up party events for our club members.

Why Isn’t the Winery Open to the Public?

Situated at the end of a winding, mountain road, our remote winery is perched on the top of Rincon Mountain. Because it’s where we work and live, there’s no official tasting room. Instead, we try to create a one-of-a-kind experience during our private parties every quarter. A lot of time and energy goes into planning our pick up parties so that our wine club members can kick back, relax, and enjoy the views.

Our Wine Making Philosophy

Here at Rincon Mountain Winery, we’re passionate about our craft and pay close attention to the details. We respect winemaking’s traditional roots, but don’t shy away from new and innovative practices. As a family-owned winery, we have a small family team that’s completely devoted to the entire life cycle of our wines. Each harvest, we strive to create wines that express both the terroir of our vineyards and the variability of each vintage. This is done through diligent winemaking practices to maximize extraction and concentration of our grapes.

Our Paso Robles Vines

The majority of our estate grapes are grown at our 50-acre ranch in the Paso Robles AVA. In 2013, we planted the first six acres. Over the next 10 years, we’ll plant the remaining 40 acres in phases, based on which grape varietals have proven to thrive. We currently have the following varietals planted on this vineyard:

Sauvignon Blanc  •  Tempranillo  •  Grenache  •  Merlot  •  Mourvedre  •  Syrah  •  Barbera  •  Zinfandel  •  Cabernet Sauvignon

Our Rincon Mountain Vines

We’re currently working on Phase 1 of our Rincon Mountain vineyard. We’re planting four acres of Syrah, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon in 2022 and will have our first harvest from this crop in 2025.
